Reiki For Horses
My first pony was a true surprise. Please allow me to share the story with you.
At the age of 6 years I had no idea that my parents came from a horse background. In 1971 they had rented a run down property in rural Mississauga, with plans to open up a boarding stable. At that time, I wasn't even aware there was a barn and arena on the property. My father had my two older sisters and myself help to "swath" what seemed like 6 ft weeds with a manual weed wacker. All of a sudden, my father brought to our attention that there was some kind of big building over in the field. But what kind of building was it? As we continued to work our way through the overgrown weeds, we were in awe when we "discovered" there was a barn on the property! What a serendipity! At the age of 6, 7 and 8 yrs old, you can imagine the glee we expressed. "Please can we get a pony, please, please"! This plea must have gone on for a while, which of course, seemed like an eternity to us three young girls! One day after school, my Dad asked me and my sisters to go to the car garage and bring him a hammer. We had no idea where he kept his tools, and immediately pointed out to him, he would have to go get it himself. Why was he so insistent that we go? At the risk of really upsetting him, we trucked off to the garage in complete puzzlement. Upon entering the garage, we discovered two ponies in a make shift "paddock" with straw bedding on the cement garage floor. How on earth did these ponies just appear? My Dad was adament that he didn't have anything to do with it. Once again, the pleading began. "Can we keep them? Please, please, please?" Since my father still insisted that he didn't know where they had come from, he said we had no choice but to keep them. (Of course, my parents fessed up soon afterwards, about bringing the ponies home for us.) And thus my love of horses began!
My mother became my coach, and introduced me to Pony Club a few years later. She always taught me to treat all animals with respect, and that they were creatures who blessed our lives.

My natural ability to communicate with them, not only included sound, but touch and the sense of their "energy". Over my lifetime, I have had the pleasure to be around many, many horses, and have been in tune with all of them, on their energy level. After discovering Reiki, it became an obvious modality to bring into my horses' world, and yours. I offer to you and your horse, my love, service, and Reiki Blessings.
